Information for Visitors
Who are we? Lutheran Church of the Redeemer consists of a wide range of people from all over the Middle Georgia area, from all ages and all different backgrounds. Whoever you are you can be assured of a very warm welcome from Redeemer. When to arrive for service If it's your first time visiting Redeemer, it's probably best if you arrive at 10:15 AM for the service on Sunday morning. We have plenty of parking and encourge all new visitors to park in the lower parking lot on the right hand side facing the church. For directions to the church please go to the directions page. As you go in the front door, you'll be greeted by one of our ushers who'll be happy to give you any help you need. We also encourage you to record your visit in the visitor's book located on the right side of the door leading to the main church. (There are also cards located in the pews that you can fill out.) What to wear This is an easy one! Whatever you feel comfortable in! We are an informal church and accept people as they are. What you can expect For anyone, going to a new church can be a nerve-racking experience. To help you feel more comfortable, here's a quick summary of what you can expect at Redeemer. We all had a "first day" at church, and all felt the same way you will. (You can print this page and bring it with you as a guide.) First, it is very important that you recieve a church bulletin from one of our ushers as it has the order of service in it that we will follow. At 10:15 for the service, you will hear our church bells chiming, indicating it's time for church! Shortly after that, the prelude will be played on the church organ, which will then be followed by an introduction to Redeemer by Pastor Braswell. At that time he will also make some announcements to the congregation. As we go through the service, all of the congregation will respond many times together. If you look in your bulletin, you will note that when it is our turn, the print will be bold and will be preceeded by the letter "C", meaning Congregation. (The "P" is for Pastor and the "A" is for Assisting Minister.) We will also sing hymns throughout the service. Most of the hymns are usually printed in the bulletin so you won't have to search through the hymnal for them. We generally finish our service somewhere near 11:45 AM to 12 noon, and also have refreshments for you following the service. Our goal is to make you feel as welcome and comfortable as possible whether this is your first experience in church and maybe just looking into Christianity or whether you have been a Christian for many years. We hope that your visit with Redeemer will encourage, inspire and draw you closer to God. What we believe In short, we are a Christian church who believe that everyone can have a relationship with God. For more details, please go to the "What Do Lutherans Believe" page . For those with children Redeemer offers a paid staff member to watch your children, however children are always welcome in our Service. Each Service features a Children's Sermon and every child is given a special bulletin just for them. Please ask the ushers to assist you if you would like to take your child to our nursery! Restrooms The restrooms are located on the right side of the church sanctuary. Go all the way to the front and look for the door that leads out to the right. As you go through the doors, the restrooms are on the left side. The Mens are on the left, Ladies are on the right. |
